Other books/materials, etc. required for class: Black 1" three ring binder with three sections, notebook paper, and a pencil.  Hand-held tape recorders and digital voice recorders are welcome in class for practice purposes.  Possible practice CDs may be provided.

     Performance attire will include:

          Women: Winter-Long black dress, or dress slacks and a white button down shirt (long 

                         sleeve).  Nude hose and no flashy jewelry (pearls are ok). Black shoes 

                         (closed toe, not too high) 

                         Spring- Khaki pants or khaki skirt (below the knee) and White button down

                         shirt (3/4 length or longer) 

          Men:  Winter- Black slacks, black socks, black shoes, white button down shirt (long sleeve).

                    Spring- Khaki slacks, white button down shirt

With this tuition rate, I must have a minimum of 6 and maximum of 30 students.

Overview of class: The Rutherford Tutorial Academy Vocal Ensemble will focus on improving music reading skills, consistency in a clear quality vocal tone, singing as an ensemble (blending voices with many unique colors), and appreciating music. The literature may include a variety of pieces from Renaissance to present day and include sacred and secular music (depending on the voice parts available).  This group will perform at least twice (once in the Winter and once in the Spring) with a number of possible community performances as well.  The opportunities are endless!!!   Ultimately my goal is that my students experience the passion I have for teaching and music.  My desire is that every single student has/develops a love for music that is unquenchable!!!!  

Prerequisites for this class: Auditions will only be required for voice placement.  Typically the song chosen is "My Country 'Tis of Thee," however students may choose another song if they wish.
