Overview of class: 

·      The History of Science (famous scientists and their discoveries)

·      Scientific Inquiry, Analyzing Data, Simple Machines

·      The History of Life (Archaeology, Geology, and Paleontology)

·      What is Life? (DNA, classifying life, and how the human body works)

     

Class is recommended for students: 7th & 8th grade

Estimated difficulty level of course for average student: Above average

Average study time for this course will be approximately: 5 hours per week

 

Assignment before first day of class:  Read Module #1 and answer the Study Guide Questions at the end of the module. Read through the experiments in Module #1 – we will perform experiments in class. Be ready to discuss and answer questions about the module.

*Parent’s responsibilities: to oversee the writing of lab reports, test taking, and to grade each study guide and module summary.

* Tutor’s responsibilities: to grade all tests, quizzes and lab reports.
