With this tuition rate, I must have a minimum of  5  and maximum of          10         students.   

 

Overview of class:  The study of the fundamental structure of Latin continues, requiring students to put forth a steady effort to add to their vocabulary while memorizing other particulars of Latin grammar. 

 

Weekly assignments include exercises that reinforce new grammar constructions and translation of stories based on The Aeneid and The Odyssey   Students also will be given supplemental worksheets throughout the year.

 

Prerequisites for this class:  Latin I. Students will need to take the placement test for Latin II.

Tutor Expectations for Parents: 

Weekly vocabulary:  Check each word on student’s flashcards for spelling accuracy before you sign their cards.  Give your student a practice quiz at home on these words.

 

Homework Assignments:  Read the week’s new chapter together.  Read instructions for each assignment with your child.  Examine your child’s completed assignments and compare against the syllabus before he/she brings them to class.  Have your child re-write messy assignments.

 

Be aware of your child’s progress by examining returned assignments.  Seek out a tutor if grades indicate a need for extra help.

 

Oversee taking of unit tests that will be sent home.

In March students will take the National Latin Exam in class.
