Some corporations give discounts to employees for Microsoft Office. Check to see if this is the case for you and if Publisher is included in the package.
**The yearbook pages are made exclusively in Microsoft Publisher. If a student does not have the program or does not plan to buy it, they can use the tutor's laptop while in class at RTA or arrange to get together with another student during the week who has the program.
Other books/materials, etc. required for class:
*Digital Camera with working batteries!
*Ability to download and burn CD’s on home computer or USB portable drive
*Access to a laptop computer that can come and go to RTA is helpful, but not required
***Parents are responsible for getting all texts and materials unless teacher specifies otherwise.

Overview of class:
Students will help create RTA’s very own yearbook! Student will be assigned tasks and held responsible for taking pictures at RTA each week as well as RTA events throughout the year. They will learn how to edit their photos and use them to create a yearbook page on the computer using software! They will work together to implement their ideas and make an original yearbook for RTA. It is TONS of FUN!
Prerequisites for this class:
A high level of commitment, responsibility AND an excitement are needed to be a part of creating our yearbook! Student needs to be able to work well with adults and peers and rise to the occasion!

Average study time for this class will be approximately 2-3 hours per week.
Assignment before first day of class: Create a page (including a title) by using the pictures you took during Orientation, burn it to disk or USB drive and bring to class Monday. One of your pages will be selected and used in the yearbook!
