Overview of class: 

Artworks are all around you. You may see them as designs in nature, such as stripes on a zebra’s back or the ripples in a puddle. They can also be created by people, as in an artist's design, known as a composition. Artists plan the composition of their artworks to help them communicate their ideas and feelings.

Through various selections of art media, Art 1 will explore the basic elements of art such as line, shape, color, texture, etc... We will also explore the principals of design (guidelines to organize the elements in a composition) by creating artworks to be viewed by our families and the public.
