Course Objectives:

  1. To teach concepts that are central to understanding Latin grammar but which are transferable to other foreign languages as well as English..
  2. To increase students’ awareness of the wealth of English words and expressions that are derived from Latin.
  3. To give students a glimpse into the culture of ancient Rome.

 

 Prerequisites for this class:  Knowledge of English grammar including parts of speech and syntax.  An understanding that memorization is an essential part of language study.
