Other books/materials, etc. required for class: Each student must bring a notebook, pen, folder and an English to Spanish dictionary to every class. Internet access is strongly recommended since occasional research assignments will also be given to the students.

With this tuition rate, I must have a minimum of 5 and maximum of 15 students.
Overview of class: We will use a holistic approach to the Spanish language, with attention given to grammar, vocabulary, forming written and oral sentences, and the culture behind the language.
Prerequisites for this class: It is strongly recommend that the student take Intro to Spanish course prior to registering for this class, since it provides basic Spanish language concepts needed for Spanish 1.
Student must read: Etapa Preliminar (beginning of book up to “Unidad 1”) over the summer.

Average study time for this class will be approximately 4-6 hours per week.
Additional comments:
- Some Spanish will be spoken during class (50% of the time) in order to enhance classroom experience.
- A grade for class participation will be given to each student as an incentive (1- 10 point system).
- Vocabulary drills are essential to the course and they must be completed by the student on a weekly basis.
