Overview of class:  In this course, students will learn now to interpret and apply the symbolic language of Algebra, be exposed to real-life Algebra applications, and learn decision-making and problem-solving skills.  The text provides carefully sequenced homework exercise sets, numerous worked-out examples, and a consistent review of concepts.   As a result of this course, a student will be prepared for Geometry and/or Algebra II.

Prerequisites for this class:  Pre-Algebra at RTA with grade "C" or better, (“A” or “B” preferred), or must take pre-test

Class is recommended for students in grades: 8th - 10th

Average study time for this class will be 5-10 hours per week.

Additional comments:   Because this is a very fast-paced class, students will need additional tutoring outside of class time.  It is the responsibility of the parent to supply that help for the student.  If they cannot provide this help themselves, they must find someone who can!!   (Parents are always welcome in the class to help them so they can answer their student’s questions during the week.)

I am available for additional tutoring for $20 per hour.
