Overview of class:  College Prep Algebra course in which students deepen the concepts learned in Algebra 1.  In this course, problem solving is introduced early and integrated throughout the year.  The text provides real-life Algebra applications, numerous worked-out examples, and a consistent review of concepts.  I will provide extra practice problems as needed.  Graphing calculators are utilized as much as possible to prepare them for college algebra.

Prerequisites for this class:   Algebra I (with “A” or “B” preferred), Geometry is helpful but not required.

Class is recommended for students in grades:  10-12

Average study time for this class will be 5 -10 hours per week.

Additional comments:   Because this is a very fast-paced class, students will need additional tutoring outside of class time.  It is the responsibility of the parent to supply that help for the student.  If they cannot provide this help themselves, they must find someone who can!!   (Parents are always welcome in the class to help them so they can answer their student’s questions during the week.)

I am available for tutoring for an additional $20/hr.
