Chemistry

Tutor – Rachel Rutherford

Course Description

In this Chemistry Course, we will be covering the basics of general chemistry that will provide applications to daily life.

Mondays will be devoted to lecture and module discussions. Labs will be offered for an additional fee for 16 weeks (every other week on Thursdays, during both semesters). These lab classes are optional. However, since the state standard to meet the Chemistry credit requires labs, students will be responsible to do the labs at home if they’re not done in class. Lab reports (and sometimes photos) will be required to be turned in to the tutor. Students will be expected to complete all assignments at home on a weekly basis. Additional tutoring will still be available on alternating Thursdays with labs.

This class requires high level critical thinking and problem solving. Students will grow in this area and will be able to apply these skills to other academia and life circumstances. These skills are refined by trial and error, working out problems, and asking questions along the way!
