Tutor – Julie Tea
This class is designed to give the student an understanding of music and to inspire an appreciation for music from a variety of different genres and cultures. Students will be introduced to basic music terminology, instrument families, tempo, rhythm, form and meter. These elements will then be used throughout the course as a foundation for discussion of music throughout history. Students will demonstrate their knowledge through various hands on activities, including a presentation on a Western Art Music composer of their choice.

This class is at an “average” difficulty level
Students in this class will need to have access to a keyboard with at least 26 keys (if you don’t have one, reach out, we may be able to help you find an affordable option). Students will also need a 3 ring binder with loose leaf paper.
