Student Chores and Parent Volunteers

Student Chores

As part of the RTA community, students are assigned a weekly chore. Morning chores require students to arrive to school early enough to complete the chore and make it to class on time. Chores usually take less than 5 minutes to accomplish. Students who forget will be reminded. Students who repeatedly forget to do their chore, will be asked to bring $5 to give to the person who does their chore for them. We are so thankful to have a body of students who are most often offering to help before we even ask!

Parent Volunteers

Upon joining our community, each family commits to serve the RTA community through various parent volunteer opportunities. Parent Volunteer signups are on orientation day and you will receive a text or phone call reminder as your date of service nears. Each family is asked to contribute a number of volunteer points and different positions are assigned different point values. Various positions include, Parent of the Day (morning and afternoon spots available), lab helpers, lunch helpers, event planners and event helpers. Spots are given out on a first-come-first-serve basis. The later a family registers, the more narrow the volunteer options are.

We are a gathering of families who work together to keep this tutorial functioning. It only runs smoothly when we all contribute. We are thankful to and often encouraged by our students and parents who are typically eager to pitch in wherever they can!
